The best and shortest way to present Straža is to use our slogan: Straža, a place of warmth, greenness and blueness.

Warmth represents the working and kind local people and the active local associations. Wherever I have the chance, I boast with our local associations being so active and organizing so many events, which promote our municipality, villages and places and our traditions.

The greenness represents our beautiful nature: forests, fields, vineyards with vine-cottages. The colour of green is calming and relaxing for the eyes and the soul.

The blueness represents our beautiful river Krka, which local people are very proud of. The river also connects the local people with the most popular sport in Straža – rafting. The members of Rafting klub Gimpex have been taking highest places in rafting competitions in Slovenia as well as in Europe and the world.

Blue and green are also in Straža’s coat-of-arms. In the top part of the coat-of-arms there is a water wheel representing a water-powered sawmill and in the bottom part it represents a water-mill. The sawmill is a symbol of the tradition of timber industry in Straža. The water-mill is a symbol of the largest and locally most well-known water-mill on the Krka river in the valley – the Dular’s water-mill (Dularjev mlin).
